The U.S. Air Force Golf Program has created
a new position to help the golf course superintendent in
managing all maintenance applications at his or her facility.
Air Force Golf feels it is paramount that our superintendents
be given as much support as possible in training opportunities,
education, report development, and agronomics. The following
documents describe the Air Force’s commitment to our
superintendents and their value to the Air Force team. |
| In recognition of our responsibility for the
improvement of the maintenance programs at our installation's
golf courses as well as the long term satisfaction and safety
of their customers, the Air Force Golf Program (HQ AFSVA/SVPAR),
as an integral unit of the Air Force Services Division,
is proud to introduce the U.S. Air Force Golf Course Maintenance
Program. |

The U.S. Air Force operates 80 golf courses
world wide representing approximately 16,000 acres of intensely
maintained and highly valued government property. The U.S.
Air Force golf courses provide the means for immeasurable
enjoyment for tens of thousands of golfers as evidenced
by the over 2.8 million rounds of golf that are played annually. |
| The Air Force Golf Program is dedicated to
helping provide ways for more rounds to be played on better-conditioned
courses by creating or adjusting current maintenance applications,
program inadequacies, cost analysis, and aesthetic recommendations.
The U.S. Air Force Golf Course Maintenance Program has been
created to help make this a reality. |
