Selections for the annual golf training camp, which determines the selection of the Air Force Golf Team, are initiated with an AF form 303. The AF 303 is a "resume" type document which is used to select the participants for the training camp held each year at a pre-determined Air Force golf course facility. The main criterion that is judged in selecting the participants is tournament results. City, state, US Open, pub links, base championships or other amateur events on that level would be appropriate to put on the resume. Minor events and intramural golf are not considered. The more events and the higher you place, the better the chance of selection. At the training camp, there is a 72 hole tournament of which 9 players (6 open, and 3 women) go forward as the "Air Force Golf Team" to the Armed Forces Championships. The Armed Forces event is a 72 hole tournament which is contested by all the service branches. This championship is rotated between golf courses of each service branch on a yearly basis. From the Armed Forces tournament, the top scorers, regardless which branch of service, are selected to form a team of players representing the US Armed Forces for competition in the CISM (International Military Sports Council). CISM is a worldwide sporting event held in various countries throughout the world on an annual basis.
