Vandenberg AFB Teen Council members spearhead program to feed the hungry

Lompoc, CA - Teenagers from the Vandenberg AFB Youth Center Teen Council helped give the community a brighter future by conducting the Bridgehouse Project. They prepared and served a spaghetti dinner for our local families in need at the Lompoc Bridgehouse Shelter. Teens collected donations of pasta and sauce to make the dinner for weeks in advance. They cooked and served the final product to over 75 individuals at the Shelter.


Clinic helps players connect with lifetime sport

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas – For individuals who are looking for a new way to spend time with friends or trying to find a new hobby, their local pro shop may have the solution. Installation golf clubs around the Air Force are offering the Get Golf Ready initiative, which introduces new players of all ages to golf at a beginner-level environment.

“Get Golf Ready was specifically designed to introduce new players to golf in a whole new way,” said Chris Bowles, Air Force Golf Program. “Our goal is to provide players a comfortable atmosphere while learning about golf at a minimal cost. Players learn everything they need to know to step onto the golf course with confidence.”



2014 Hennessy Award winners announced

 JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas – Air Force Personnel Center officials recently announced the best food service programs in the Air Force with the selection of the 2014 John L. Hennessy Award for food service excellence.

For the 58th consecutive year, the Hennessy Award recognizes the best food service programs in the Air Force, as well as individual excellence.



Raising the roof: Team Shaw aids Habitat for Humanity

 SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- Through a recent volunteer partnership with Kershaw County Habitat for Humanity, the 20th Force Support Squadron here has been able to assist in building a home in Camden S.C. 

 More than 45 Airmen from the 20th FSS and the 20th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron have dedicated more than 100 hours to the organization.
