Airmen performing physical fitness-Push UpsIn an effort to improve the fitness level of its people, the Air Force recognized a need to expand current fitness programming.  The focal point at each Air Force Installation is the Health and Wellness Center (HAWC). The HAWC is usually located near the installation fitness center or the Community Activity Center and is staffed by professional health and fitness specialists who provide programs and services. Upon referral or individual request, Airmen and families can receive fitness evaluations and counseling by experts at the HAWC.
