San Antonio, TX - HQ AFSVA is replacing the current presence it has on the Air Force Knowledge Now Community of Practice (COP). The new site will feature all the content previously hosted on the COP along with new forums and other Web 2.0 features. The new site is located at http://www.usafservices.com.

The new site will allow for more direct communication between HQ content providers and the content users. The site allows better administration of information managers need to keep their operations in tiptop shape. The site will use the best in online content management allowing HQ content providers add information by themselves, reducing updating time and communicating new policy, programs and directives to the field more effectively.

Managers are now able to use their CAC cards for login to the site from workstations or home computers with CAC readers. CAC login offers the ability for users to access information using their CAC PIN instead of having to remember multiple complex passwords that routinely expire. CAC login offers better security for managers to gain access to information.

Future improvements include Reduced Sign On (RSO) to back office systems that will further reduce the amount of passwords people have to remember to different systems hosted by AFSVA. RSO is the first step to integrating AFSVA systems into a single user interface to help managers virtualize their local office operations.

We are changing how we communicate with each other and how we administrate our operations. These changes are through the internet as well as hand held devices such as smart phones. Everyone from the deployed Airman, families, retirees, managers and employees stand to benefit as we move forward into this new era of communication.
