Members of Mountain Home Air Force Base took fitness to the next level April 25 during the Strongman Competition held at the base fitness center.
Men and women competed in strength athletics to include deadlift, overhead press, tire flip, crucifix hold, truck pull and a farmers carry. While women competed in one class, men were categorized by above and below 200 pounds.

Friends, family and co-workers gathered to support the competitors. Senior Airman Jonathan Rogan, 366th Medical Support Squadron, was cheered on by his girlfriend while she recorded video of his events.

“Her support is amazing, she is always there and helps me stay motivated,” said Rogan.

After a rigorous afternoon of pushing their bodies to the limits the top winners were recognized and awarded for their efforts. U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jack Barnes placed first in the 200 pounds plus category, Airman 1st Class Christopher Mintz placed first in the below 200 pounds category, and Airman Megan Buckley placing first for the women.
