The DoD Health Benefits Program, through Aetna, provides access to in-network doctors, hospitals, health care facilities, and pharmacies, globally, along with claims administration services for the Program.  Aetna, as the Third Party Administrator, processes and pays medical and dental claims.  Premiums from participants are collected through payroll deductions on a bi-weekly basis.  More information about the benefit can be found at Aetna.com and/or Aetna.Navigator.
 

The Stand Alone Dental Plan, through Aetna, provides access to in-network dentist.  Aetna processes and pays the dental claims.   Premiums from participants are collected through payroll deductions on a bi-weekly basis.

You may have heard that many companies offer a Flexible Spending Accounts and Dependent Care Accounts for their employees.


What is a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Care Account? A Flexible Spending Accounts is an employer-sponsored benefit that provides employees with the opportunity to set aside a pre-set portion of their salary on a pre-tax basis to pay for eligible expenses.

Dependent Care Accounts is an employer-sponsored benefit that provides employees with the opportunity to set aside a pre-set portion of their salary on a pre-tax basis to pay for child-care expenses.
